This issue begins with a research article by Elena Martynova and Jessica Davis who examine how ideologically motivated violent extremist (IMVE) groups in Canada finance their activities and attacks. Then Marina Alonso-Villota and Rubén Arcos analyse 55 publicly available terrorism databases and datasets (DDTs), examining how their definitions, data sources, and methodological choices are documented and made publicly available and how these design choices impact research outcomes. 

In the Research Notes section, Lewys Brace begins with an analysis of the relationship between online “gore sites” and ideological extremist content, using the Gore Online Ecosystem Dataset (GOED). Next Joana Cook, Graig Klein and Bàrbara Molas provide an event summary of a 2024 ICCT–Leiden University workshop that brought together 26 experts from 11 countries to explore how terrorists and violent extremists may adapt to and exploit emerging AI technologies.
