The Center for Research on Extremism, C-REX, is a cross-disciplinary center for the study of right-wing extremism, hate crime and political violence. It is a joint collaboration with five of the leading Norwegian institutions on extremism research.

The Handa Center for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) is dedicated to the study of the causes, dynamics, characteristics and consequences of terrorism and related forms of political violence. In doing so, it is committed to rigorous, evidence-based, scholarly analysis that is policy-relevant but
independent.

The Sawab Center is a think tank dedicated to combating terrorism and extremism that is based on the misuse of religion. The Center tackles extremism through a multi-faceted approach, by studying the underlying drivers and developing research-based strategies to counter it. The Sawab Center publishes research papers, surveys, briefs and reports on extremist organisations such as Daesh, Houthis, Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK) provides research, analysis and commentary on conflicts and strategic issues. ISPK is committed to furthering the security policy discourse in Germany and abroad through focused, interdisciplinary, policy-oriented research. 

Hedayah is an international organisation dedicated to using its expertise and experiences to counter violent extremism (CVE) through dialogue, communications, capacity-building programs, research and analysis. As a thought leader in the CVE community, Hedayah approaches CVE from various angles, tackling threats of violent extremism on all levels, from supporting governments in developing their national CVE strategies to engaging with actors on the ground.

The Soufan Center (TSC) is an independent non-profit organisation offering research, analysis, and strategic dialogue on foreign policy challenges with a particular focus on global security, conflict prevention and resolution, and the rule of law. Their work is underpinned by an emphasis on prevention, mitigation, and a recognition that human rights and human security perspectives are critical to credible, effective, and sustainable solutions. 

The Center for Research and Evidence on Security Threats (CREST) brings together expertise in understanding the psychological and social drivers of the threat, the skills and technologies that enable its effective investigation, and the protective security measures that help counter the threat in the first place. CREST offers projects on CVE, Cyber Actors, Disinformation, VE, Radicalisation and Risk Assessment.

The Institut Français des Relations Internationales (IFRI) brings together a multi-national team divided into 10 research units with a regional focus. IFRI’s policy-oriented research strives to shed light on international events and put them in perspective. It is primarily useful for political and economic decision-makers as well as academics, opinion leaders, and civil society representatives. IFRI's counter-terrorism research focuses on strategic thinking from a European perspective.

The Society for Terrorism Research is an international, multi-disciplinary organisation of theoretical and empirical researchers whose mission is to enhance knowledge and understanding of terrorism and political violence through annual conferences, events and articles in our peer-reviewed journal.
